Celebrate National Public Health Week with the Cambridge Public Health Department

It’s National Public Health Week! The week, April 6 – 12, 2026, highlights the important work of public health and honors the public health workers who show up every day to improve the quality of life for all.

The Cambridge Public Health Department is celebrating this important observance in multiple ways. The City of Cambridge’s City Council recently proclaimed National Public Health Week for the week of April 6-12, “in special appreciation of the dedicated work of City government, community organizations, health professionals, businesses, and residents in advancing health equity and building a healthier, more resilient Cambridge; and be it further.”

In addition, we invite the public to join us on Thursday, April 9 for an Overdose Prevention Kit Assembly Event to help make these lifesaving tools more accessible to those in need throughout the state. Volunteers play a crucial role in this program by assembling the kits. For more information and to register, please visit the Cambridge Public Library’s website.
