Spring & Mulberry Chocolate Bars Recalled

Spring & Mulberry is updating its press release from January 12, 2026 to expand the recall of chocolate products to include several additional flavors due to possible contamination with Salmonella. According to the company’s website, the chocolate bars are carried by Whole Foods and several smaller retailers locally, including in Cambridge. The affected products were available for purchase online and in stores nationwide since September 15, 2025.

Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly individuals, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals infected with Salmonella may experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare cases, infection can result in the organism entering the bloodstream and causing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis, and arthritis. Individuals experiencing these symptoms should seek medical attention immediately.

Customers who have purchased the affected lots listed in the recall notice should not consume the products and should dispose of them immediately. Customers may request a refund or replacement by contacting Spring & Mulberry at [email protected] with a photo of the lot code.

For information about the specific lots affected, visit the FDA website.
