The Agenda for Children Literacy Initiative is a free program based at the Cambridge Public Health Department that works with parents and caregivers to support the development of children’s language and literacy skills so that new kindergartners will enter school ready to learn how to read and write.
The Literacy Initiative supports parents and caregivers in their role as primary teachers of language. The program also shares strategies parents can use to have a positive influence on their children’s education from birth onward.
