Narcan Distribution Event at Library on May 9, 2024

The Cambridge Public Health Department, in partnership with Access Drug User Health, will be hosting a Narcan Distribution event on Thursday, May 9 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Cambridge Public Library’s Central Square Branch at 45 Pearl Street. Our team will be handing out FREE Narcan, fentanyl test strips, and other resources. All are welcome!

Want to learn more about Narcan? Naloxone (also known as Narcan) is a FDA approved nasal spray that can rapidly reverse an opioid overdose. People who are concerned about the risk of an opioid overdose, including those who use prescription or illicit opioids, their family members, friends, caregivers, or members of the public should consider having naloxone on hand. Learn more about it on our Overdose Prevention page.

Fentanyl test strips, meanwhile, are small strips of paper that can detect the presence of fentanyl in all different kinds of drugs (cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, etc.) and drug forms (pills, powder, and injectables). Learn more on the CDC website.
