Children’s Applesauce Products Recalled Due to Elevated Lead Levels

The Federal Drug Administration (FDA) has issued recalls of several types of children’s applesauce pouches due to elevated lead levels. Lead is toxic to humans and can affect people of any age; children are especially susceptible to the harmful effects of lead. Consumers are urged not to eat, sell or serve these products.  The applesauce pouches in question were sold in retail stores and online. The recalled brands are WanaBana, Schnucks, and Weis.
More detail about the recalls can be found on the FDA’s website.
