Cambridge Public Health Department Recognizes World Mental Health Day, Reminds Residents of Important Community Supports

A PSA about the Community Behavioral Health Center.

As we acknowledge World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2024, the Cambridge Public Health Department is pleased to share information about an important resource in our community: The Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) at CHA Cambridge Hospital.

The CBHC offers walk-in urgent care for behavioral health and substance use needs. It also offers a 24/7 phone line staffed by mental health professionals. Services are for everyone in the community – children, teens and adults.

To help raise awareness of the important services provided by the CBHC, the health department has created educational materials that explain what the CBHC offers. These include:

  • An educational video that takes viewers inside the center to meet the staff and learn about the services offered;
  • A shorter PSA, translated into 5 languages, that introduces the CBHC to community members;
  • Informational wallet cards – in English and seven additional languages – that offer basic information about the CBHC: location, phone, hours, services; and
  • Bookmarks that highlight CBHC services.

Watch the video and PSAs about the Community Behavioral Health Center.

If you or someone you care about needs urgent care for mental health or substance use, walk in to the CBHC or call the 24/7 number.
