The Cambridge Public Health Department is hosting public clinics for flu and COVID-19 vaccines this month. Check the vaccine clinic schedule and register for an appointment on the CPHD website.
The Cambridge Public Health Department urges all residents who are eligible to get vaccinated this fall against flu and COVID-19. Everyone aged 6 months and older is eligible to receive both flu and COVID-19 vaccines in Massachusetts.
Certain groups are considered high risk and are specifically recommended for COVID vaccination, including:
- Children aged 6-23 months
- Adults aged 65 and older
- Children and adults at high risk for serious illness (chronic conditions, immunocompromised status)
- People who are pregnant
- People who live with or care for individuals at high risk of severe disease
Everyone age 6 months and older is recommended to receive the flu vaccine
- Children younger than 9 years who are being vaccinated for flu for the first time will need a second vaccination
Flu and COVID-19 vaccines are available at local pharmacies including CVS, Walgreens, Osco, and Inman Pharmacy, as well as many primary care offices. Most insurance plans will cover the vaccines.
