Childhood Asthma Program

The Cambridge-Somerville Healthy Homes childhood asthma program helps families of young children with asthma. During home visits, families learn about what they can do to reduce asthma triggers in their home and receive helpful supplies.

The Healthy Homes program is free and includes many services. Our staff can:

  • Check your home for asthma triggers.
  • Listen to your child’s lungs.
  • Teach you about your child's asthma medications and how to use them.
  • Review your child’s asthma care plan.
  • Work with your child’s medical provider, school health nurse, and others to coordinate care.
  • Offer special mattress and pillow covers that protect your child from dust.
  • Provide special cleaning supplies.
  • Help with pest problems.
  • Connect your family with other services, such as health inspectors.

Who Do We Serve?

Healthy Homes serves children who:

  • Are age 13 or younger.
  • Have asthma.
  • Live in Cambridge, Somerville, Everett, Malden, or Revere.
