Flu Vaccine Plentiful at Cambridge Flu Clinics

November 9, 2006

Cambridge Public Health Department officials announced on Nov. 9 that the department has abundant vaccine for its remaining November flu clinics, and that an additional clinic is scheduled for Nov. 29.

"We expect there will be plenty of vaccine available this fall and winter," said Louise Rice, RN, the department’s Director of Public Health Nursing. "We encourage anyone who would like a free flu shot to come to our flu clinics."

Anyone age 9 or older can receive a free flu shot at the health department's flu clinics. While there is no charge to the public for flu shots, seniors are encouraged to bring their Medicare health insurance cards with them to the clinics. The Health Department is able to bill Medicare and Medicare HMOs, which helps offset program costs.

Please do not arrive early to the flu clinics.
