Cambridge Fitness Brothers Starts June 1

May 22, 2009

The Men’s Health League in Cambridge is recruiting teams of men for its Fitness Brothers program.

The free 10-week program is open to groups of up to four men who want to become more physically active. Teams will compete for a grand prize for the most active group. Men choose their own sport or activity, and will learn about fitness training, men’s health issues, and stress management, including tips on planning for a healthy financial future.

Bally Total Fitness in Porter Square is offering a free 10-week membership, and the Cambridge Family YMCA is offering a weekly one-day pass to all Fitness Brothers participants.

Orientation meetings will be held on Tuesday, May 26 at 6:00 p.m. at the Citywide Senior Center, 806 Massachusetts Avenue (across from City Hall), Wednesday, May 27 at 6:00 p.m. at Bally Total Fitness 1815 Mass Avenue Cambridge (Porter Square), and on Saturday, May 30 at 1:30 p.m. at the Citywide Senior Center, 806 Massachusetts Avenue.

Men who are interested in serving as a team captain should call 617-665-3686 or email Henry Lewis at hlewis@challiance.org. The Men's Health League is a partnership of the Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House, Cambridge Health Alliance, and the Cambridge Family YMCA.
