A seminar about a day in the life of a local public health department

Graduate public health students are invited to attend a free, half-day seminar at the Cambridge Public Health Department from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5.

Led by local public health experts, students discuss current scenarios to learn more about the "real life" challenges and opportunities, beyond their classroom training. The event includes:

  • An interdisciplinary panel of local public health leaders and practitioners
  • Three interactive workshops (students choose from Communications Planning in Action: Crafting a successful public health campaign; Urban Agriculture: Growing policy for honey, eggs, and fresh vegetables; and SBIRT: A substance use screening tool coming to schools near you)
  • Special guest Lauren Powell,MPA, PhD,  Cambridge Public Health Department
  • Breakfast and networking lunch
