Real World Public Health

A seminar about a day in the life of a local public health department

Registration deadline is Tuesday, April 1.

Graduate public health students are invited to attend a free, half-day seminar at the Cambridge Public Health Department from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9.

Led by local public health experts, students discuss current scenarios to learn more about the "real life" challenges and opportunities, beyond their classroom training. The event is co-sponsored by the Cambridge Public Health Department and the Institute for Community Health, and includes:

  • A career panel of local public health leaders and practitioners
  • Three interactive workshops (students choose from Environmental Health; Food and Fitness Policy; Community-Based Participatory Research)
  • Special guest Deborah Klein Walker, EdD, Vice President/Senior Fellow - Abt Associates, Inc.; Past President, American Public Health Association
  • Breakfast and networking lunch
